The Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) is delighted to announce the Cushman Foundation Making a Difference for San Diego Grant Program for 2020. The Cushman Foundation’s third year of this remarkable initiative will be focused on awarding organizations that demonstrate impact through sustainable programs and/or services provided exclusively to: Veterans (not on active duty), Seniors, or Children. Over               $1 million will be awarded to San Diego County organizations as grants of up to $150,000 each. Grants will be disbursed over three years in equal distributions with an annual maximum of $50,000. The initial grant distributions will occur before June 30, 2020.

The Cushman Foundation has been quietly supporting the San Diego community for over 30 years. The Cushman Foundation continues to give back to the city that has supported their family for six generations by providing grants to a diverse array of community and humanitarian endeavors with a goal of bringing about constructive change and promoting human welfare. This exciting program continues the Cushman Foundation's commitment to fund organizations that support underserved individuals by providing much-needed services in diverse communities throughout San Diego County. 

 

A successful application must address how your organization and its programs and/or services specific to Veterans (not on active duty), Seniors, or Children will be Making a Difference for San Diego, and how this grant would enable that to happen. 

 

The application will open on February 24, 2020. The deadline for submission is March 20, 2020 and initial grant distributions will be awarded by   June 30, 2020. Following the close of the application and as part of the review process, finalists will be contacted for an in-person interview.

To apply, an organization must:

 

  • Attend one 90-minute orientation session at the Jewish Community Foundation on any of the following dates where you will be provided a new username and password. There will be no other opportunities to receive credentials. All attendees must be pre-registered for the orientation session. Registration for these sessions are NOW open!   CLICK HERE to register.

 

    Friday, February 14 at 9am  ~  Tuesday, February 18 at 9am or 2pm  ~ Wednesday, February 19 at 9am or 2pm  ~ Monday, February 24 at 9am.

 

  • Once applications open on February 24, 2020, use your unique username and password to access the application on the JCFConnect Donor Portal.

 

Please ensure your application is meaningful, thoughtful, and specific, demonstrating sustainable impact on the community and how this grant will Make a Difference for San Diego.

Because of the anticipated large volume of grant requests, applying for this grant will be a competitive process. Ultimately, the Cushman Foundation is unable to fund all requests.
